Fair and Festivals of Orchha
Ram Navami, Dussehra and Diwali are some of the orchha festivals are mostly celebrated . In March-April,Ram navami (Birth Of Lord Ram) is celebrated . Ramayana, the Hindu epic is chanted during the eight days prior to Ram Navami and on the day temples are decorated with lights, coloured papers and flowers. The idol of Lord Rama is bathed and dressed in new clothes.
The other Orchha festival which celebrated with pomp and show is Dussehra. The nine day festival is celebrated during September-October and the festivities include burning effigies of Ravana and his siblings. Cultural programs and fairs are conducted during this festival.
Diwali is another main orchha festival which celebrates very seductively– the festival of lights is celebrated in October- November and signifies the victory of good over evil.
